The meantime, that period between something begun or anticipated and its successful completion or fulfillment, is often frustrating but always important. When we’ve done everything we know to do and it’s just not working, when it takes longer than we thought and is more difficult than we imagined; how we think, what we believe and how we conduct ourselves will have a direct impact on the outcome. The Bible is filled with battles won and lost by action or inaction during the meantime.

Are you struggling in a meantime in your health, marriage, finances or career that seems like it will never end? Are you weary, frustrated and discouraged? God is in the midst of your meantime. How often do we settle for what is good rather than searching for and paying the price for God’s best? The good brings short-term satisfaction, results and benefits; the God brings the eternal. Join us for this three part series with Pastor Ron this Sunday.

God has a plan and purpose for you. He has a master plan that is greater than you could ever imagine on your own. So, how do you discover this plan? If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Why am I here?” or “What is my purpose in life?” then you definitely don’t want to miss this powerful series.

On that fateful day in the garden of Eden, sin brought separation between God and man. No longer would our Creator walk in the garden with us. The days of talking directly to Him had come to an end. From that day forward only a select few could experience the tangible presence of God and then only with great fear and trembling.

But, separation is not God’s plan for us. The wall that sin had built between man and our Creator seemed insurmountable. This heavy veil of isolation was unacceptable. Something drastic had to happen to tear away the heavy weight and shroud of sin. A heavy price had to be paid to tear down this wall.

Have you ever wondered if the grass really is greener on the other side of your marriage? Wouldn’t it just be easier to move or start over with a different marriage? The condition of our proverbial grass, be it healthy or not so much, isn’t the result of happenstance. It either produces life out of purposeful tending or risks smothering to death from tangled weeds of neglect. The grass doesn’t have to be greener on the other side. It can be greener in your own backyard.

Prayer Services at ROCK Church
Join us Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm in the main auditorium on January 12th, 19th & 26th, as we take time to draw together as a church family to pray. This is an event for the entire family. We encourage parents to bring thier children and help them feel included as we pray together. No child care is provided.

One day Job was on the top of the world. Everything was going his way. Then he lost everything. But, he never gave up believing in God and God never gave up on Job. In the end, God restored everything Satan had stolen.

10/31/2010 – Chapter 2: Who me? I’m afraid you’ve got the wrong guy (Gideon)
Gideon was the smallest of his family and his clan was the weakest in the land. He was the guy that the nerds shoved into the locker. Yet, God chose the weakest of the weak to deliver His people.

11/7/2010: Chapter 3: Two guys walk into a brothel… (Rahab)
Sex, lies, espionage, intrigue and redemption. No, it’s not the latest blockbuster movie. God chose a prostitute named Rahab to hide the messengers sent to spy on Jericho. Because of her faith, her whole house was saved.

11/14/2010 – Chapter 4: Foreclosure is one thing. But, this was ridiculous (Prophet’s Widow)
She had seen the debt collectors repo chariots, homes and livestock. But, today the repo man was coming for her kids. To make matters even worse, she had nothing in her home to even try and negotiate. She would have been at the bottom of the barrel, if only she had a barrel. But God had different plans.

11/21/2010 – Chapter 5: Why do I give thanks? This may take a while… (David)
David was happy worshipping God in the fields while watching his father’s sheep. He learned to be afraid of nothing because God was on his side. When his own family did not believe in him, God chose him again and again. David was far from perfect. Because he knew how to repent and turn from his failures, God said David was a man after His own heart.

11/28/2010 – Chapter 6: I thought God’s promise was for prominence, not prison.(Joseph)
Joseph had a dream. A really big, exciting dream. If he had known that the path to seeing it fulfilled would see him thrown into slavery before being exalted to prominence. Just when he thought life was getting good, he landed in prison. This was not a part of the dream. But the road from prison to palace was a very short road.

WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

• In rescue, such as salvation in Jesus or freedom from a particular sin or healing from a broken situation.
• In loving care, such as an answered prayer, a divine appointment or an instance of God’s special favor.
• In mission, such as volunteering, serving the community or bringing others closer to Jesus.

We can’t promise every story will be told, but we will share as many as possible with ROCK Church staff and volunteers to encourage them in their ministry!
