Haiti or Bust!

This morning, Pastor Bryan had the opportunity to pray over our Haiti Mission Team as they prepared to leave Wilmington. We are proud of the commitment this team has made to serve the people of Haiti.

For the next 8 days, they will serve selflessly as they help rebuild homes and ministries affected by the earthquake.

Operation We Care

Don’t forget! This Sunday is the day to turn in your “Operation We Care” boxes. Take your unsealed boxes to the “Operation We Care” display in the lobby. We have a very special honored guest coming as a representative of the Army National Guard. Lets give him a warm welcome and let him know we remember our freedom is not free and we appreciate and support wholeheartedly the men and women who selflessly serve our country. We still have some unfilled boxes. If you haven’t picked yours up yet, take one home on Sunday and bring it back next week. We will continue receiving boxes for the next few weeks.

Haiti Mission Trip 2010

On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 earthquake delivered a blow to Haiti and likewise shook the hearts of the whole world. Only several months later much of the media attention has begun to subside. The need, however, is far from over. Some are estimating the rebuilding process in Haiti to last upwards of ten years. This is yet another chance for the Church to stand up and make a difference by leading the way in responding to the needs of these precious people. To play a role in serving, ROCK Church is sending a team of ten to assist in the rebuilding of homes and hearts in Haiti. We will pull out on July 31 and return on August 7. In order to maximize our impact in Haiti, we will be partnering with Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA. They have a massive heart for missions as well as a consistent influx of teams on the ground in Haiti. The people of ROCK Church responded along with many other churches in donating medical supplies and a generous offering the week after the quake hit. As we all knew though, the need would be far greater than could be met in one opportunity. The cost of this trip to Haiti is $1700 per person. Those attending will be sacrificing work, family, and finances in order to serve and would greatly appreciate any financial assistance you could offer. Here’s a few ways you can help. // PRAY We want to encourage everyone to pray for those affected, pray for those responding to the need, and pray about how God would have you get involved // GIVE You can give in the offering on Sunday and designate it ‘Haiti Mission Trip‘ or mail in your donations to: ROCK Church 5301 Sidbury Rd. Castle Hayne, NC 28429 Please Note: “Haiti Mission Trip” with your donation)

Baton Rouge 2010

FlipSide is heading back to the Baton Rouge Dreamcenter this year. We had an amazing time the past two years partnering with Healing Place Church and serving in one of the most crime ridden and poor areas of Baton Rouge. Through after school programs, street outreach, grocery give-aways, a free clothing boutique, homeless breakfast, etc., we were part of bringing light in the darkness and reaching those forgotten and abandoned by society. If you have a teen ages 13-18, don’t let them miss out on this incredible opportunity.
